In early late January and early February 2011, two cyclones bore down upon the Queensland coast. Cyclone Yasi was the largest storm in the State’s history and much larger than the other cyclone, which led the Premier to describe them as ‘David and Goliath’. The language caught my ear as we just happened to have read 1 Samuel 17, which relates the battle of David with Goliath, in our church services. In addition, I happened to preach a sermon on Matthew 7 on Sunday 30thJanuary 2011 entitled… ‘when the storm comes’.
