Divine transport

Last Sunday (19 Feb 2023) I began my sermon with reference to an ABC news report about the absence of Southerly Busters coming to Sydney over the past 14 months. I used this as an illustration to introduce Jesus words in Luke 12:54-57 on interpreting the times.

On Shrove Tuesday, two days later, I was out for a walk with my dog in the park when I noticed the clouds moving swiftly. As I looked behind at the dark cloud mass coming – lo and behold, it was a Southerly buster. I began to jog back home to ensure that I didn’t get saturated, and then had a good shake up when two absolutely massive thunderclaps boomed out right over our hill in the East. The church noticeboard sign spoke volumes:
