“And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing there, urging him and saying, Come over to Macedonia and help us. And when Paul had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go on into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.” (Acts 16:9-10).
Ash Wednesday and this morning I read Acts 16. A couple of hours later I had a coffee with my wife up at the local café and I met a mother from the local school. I rarely see her and had not spoken for a while but, as we chatted, I recalled that some time ago she had shared about having a Macedonian background. It led me to share with her that only this very morning I had read these verses in Acts 16 about Paul seeing a vision of a man of Macedonia urging him to go there.
When I returned home I looked in my journal to see if I had a note about Macedonia – and whaddyaknow? Turns out the lady shared with me about her Macedonian background right on two years ago – and it just happened it was also the morning of Ash Wednesday 2021.
